I’m good at my craft of writing. Not so good at design. In fact, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to logos, design, and color.
Thankfully, I got to know Katherine about a year ago online. She’s the Online Marketing Director at Print Firm, a San Fernando Valley, California printer that serves clients all over the U.S. They have an easy Design-It-Online tool that helps you design and order business cards, flyers, postcards, or whatever you need for marketing.
That’s great if you already have your idea fleshed out. I didn’t, and that’s where Katherine came in.
Since I’m building a brand here at CopywriterCafe.com, I needed a business card and a logo. I wanted it to be simple and clean, something that would reflect the essence of what I’m doing, and something I could use for a long time. I also wanted it to stand out.
Katherine took the time to understand the Copywriter Café concept, ask me a lot of questions, and offer her expert advice. She came up with a custom design that nailed it:
When I got the cards (which came quickly), I loved the look. The true test? Reaction from others, of course.
People love the design, the font (I didn’t even know what to do there – Katherine picked that out, too), and especially the rounded corners. BAM! It fits the Copywriter Café perfectly.
In the past I’ve used really cheap online printing services, but never got assistance and wasn’t always thrilled. You get what you pay for.
I’ve also used local printers that cost a lot more, but even then, didn’t get any design help or guidance whatsoever.
Print Firm is an excellent solution in the middle. Reasonable prices, top-quality printing, and expert help, which is especially helpful for someone like me. Even though I got my box of cards gratis in exchange for a review, I will continue to use Katherine and the team at Print Firm for all my printing and design needs. They rock.
