Is it just me or do we have two angles coming at us?

On the one side, people telling us that it’s super easy to be a copywriter or have a digital marketing agency, because “anyone can do it.”

Well, the fact is, not everyone can do it. It takes skills, and that takes time.

But they’re selling us an “easy” program to pull us in.

Then, once you’re on board, you find out it’s not so easy. And not only is it not easy, but you realize you need some systems in place in order to run your business.

The other side, then, seems to exaggerate how many of those systems you need.

I recently saw an “Ultra-Simple Five-Step Framework” revealed that looked more complicated than my third semester of college Calculus.

Ultra-simple!? Hardly.

This seems to be common.

You start getting pitched one system after another for lead generation, funnels, CRMs, email marketing, along with 150 different plug-ins and various tools to – again – make it “easy.”

Problem is, for me, it all starts getting quite complicated.

Before you know it, you’re knee-deep in tools, resources, and systems…and yet you’re still struggling to keep your schedule booked solid months in advance.

One week you have some client projects and you’re wondering how you’re going to meet the deadlines. The next week you’re wondering where your next client will come from so you can pay next month’s credit card bill.

Am I alone in finding this all a bit too much? Too complicated? Too confusing?

Are you overwhelmed by all the options and different paths you can take?
